Policy & Advocacy

We shape practical, evidence-based regulation that protects consumers while enabling industry growth.

How we work

We operate through a structured, collaborative process that brings industry, government, and experts to the same table. Our work begins with formal submissions, where we present evidence-based recommendations on policies and regulations. These are followed by stakeholder consultations that allow us to gather perspectives from businesses, consumer groups, and government partners, ensuring every viewpoint is heard.

We also host technical roundtables with regulators to discuss standards, testing requirements, and practical implementation challenges. Beyond this, we build coalitions with major trade bodies, such as OICCI, to strengthen our collective voice and align on national priorities. Throughout the process, we use international benchmarking to compare Pakistan’s policies with global best practices, helping shape a modern, competitive, and forward-looking food sector.

Position Papers

We publish detailed position papers and submissions to guide smarter, more practical food regulations in Pakistan. Our Position on National Food Safety Standards (Download) outlines how the industry can strengthen testing, traceability, and compliance while keeping products safe for consumers.

Our submission on packaging regulation and circularity (Download) highlights the need for responsible packaging, improved recycling systems, and policies that support a more sustainable materials lifecycle.

To support smoother commerce, we provide comments on tariffs and trade facilitation, offering recommendations that help reduce bottlenecks, simplify import and export processes, and make Pakistani products more competitive abroad.

We also develop a white paper on fortification policy (Download), explaining how fortified foods can address nutrient deficiencies and proposing ways to scale these solutions safely and effectively across the country.
